Would like to discuss the current energy policy of the US and all the ramifactions of the introduction of a new policy. What would it take to change policy? Would it offer economic stability? Is drilling in Alaska a good idea?

We Are All Adults Here
This is a moderated, multi-partisan forum for people of all political views and leanings. Ultimately, our hopes are that this space will become and remain a non-hostile environment where people can tell others their ideas and give voice to their hopes.
If you would like to make valid, coherent arguments for your favorite candidate or just share your feelings about the state of our Union in general, we have a place for you.
Here's how it works:
If you would like to have an article or comment considered for inclusion on the main page of the blog just post your article or comment in the comments section of any post on the main page. Your article will be forwarded to our mailbox and after it is approved by the moderators it will appear on the main page of the blog unedited and credited to you.
Q: Why is the blog moderated and what are the moderators looking for?
A: We have enabled moderation to keep out the posts that are nothing but vicious attacks on candidates and other posters which eventually make all political forums unpleasant to visit. The only articles or comments that will be rejected are those deemed to be blatantly hostile or abusive.
The ground rules:
1. No mudslinging. We realize that sometimes it is necessary to reference the views or actions of your candidate's opponent to make a point. That's okay. If a candidate or blog contributor rubs you the wrong way and you want to let people know why, that's okay too. What's not okay is posting comments or articles of which the entire text is about how a particular person is "an out of touch old fart", "Muslim extremist" or "know nothing Jesus freak". An example of an unacceptable post can be found here*.
2. Give yourself a name. It does not have to be your real name (but it can be). A simple "Joe in Baton Rouge" or "Coffee_Gurl1974" will be enough. It's nice to get to eventually get to know people and specifically look for their posts or comments.
3. Let us know if you are submitting something for the main page. At the top of your submission include the words "Main Page Submission" or something to that effect.
4. Include a password with all submissions. It can be a word or an alpha-numeric string of characters. This will hopefully prevent others from impersonating you and submitting posts with content that is contradictory to your feelings and/or thoughts.
5. Keep it on the positive side as much as possible. Did your candidate reveal an important plan or make a policy statement on an issue you think is important? Do they move you in a profoundly positive way and give you hope? Then we really want to hear about it.
* even though this post references Barack Obama, posts of this sort will not be accepted no matter who it pertains to.
Thanks for visiting. We are looking forward to your participation.
